really thanks to all those people who turned up today to help with the cny class deco! they sacrificed their precious saturday time, as most of them came before their tuition, or after giving out oranges, cca and stuff. even though we didn't complete, but, we did considerably much hard work, with people running back and forth. every single one contributed, thanks once again! the earliest was 8am and lasted all the way till 3pm?

hey there... cheryl here. went to carrefour a couple a weeks ago and took a pic of some FBT shirts. maybe these pics can be of some help...

and oh.. if we are not getting those branded shirts like nike or addidas maybe we can consider FBT? i think the quality not bad and it should be better than those "lao ya" shirts those printing place provide...yea so do take a look!

i heard that the class voted for HOT PINK AND BLACK last year. so is the shirt hot pink and the words black? or the shrit black and words hot pink? in the first 2 pics there is a hot pink shirt and black stripes pretty cool i think... can u imagine the whole class in hot pink? anyways the majority of the shirts are the same design as the last 2 pics.

CIP Issues:
IMPORTANT: OPENING CEREMONY HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 18/5/07
A dance has been choreographed, retro-styled. Those interested are welcomed with open arms to join in the dance item. Credits to Cheryl, Jessica Lin, Keziah, Trina and Winona and all others who went on Monday afternoon.
Two songs have been chosen as well.
On Wednesday, which is tomorrow, we'll stay back in the afternoon(hopefully theres no SSP) and practise the song and dance.
Note: If you do not wish to dance, you will have to sing. Vice Versa.
Well if theres SSP, we'll just practise after SSP.(deja vu) Can? Cause if we don't start practising tomorrow, we'll go up to stage on friday looking like morons.

Class TEE:
Well we lost the Earliest class tee award.
So we shall go for the cutest and most nicerest class tee award.whatever tht is.

Thank you for your email. My team and I are currently working on the opening ceremony as well. The opening ceremony would most likely be scheduled on the 18th May or the 25th May. I believe your exams would have ended by then. I certainly hope that all of you can set aside these dates for the opening ceremony.

1) Instead of having a small scale opening ceremony, it will be a relatively large scaled one. The MP and the Mayor will be present during the opening ceremony.
2) For the food, more funds have been set aside and we will be helping you guys to order it. So no worries about that.
3)If possible, it would be good if all of you can come up with a 10 minutes performance for the guests and the MP. Please do ensure that the performance is something that the elderly can understand and that you guys rehearse before that (since the MP will be present)

okay for the old folks thingy,

-dance------------- trina suggested to do some very retro dance for the oldies instead of always doing hip hop.eg. banana rama and do the hustle.

-games?-----------some can be held in the centre some at the badminton court outside the centre...

- lucky draw and prizes?---------- give them rice, toothbrush, canned food, oatmeal, milo, crackers? oh and maybe bowel removing tea? ol folks sometimes have problem doing their business...>.<

games
basically simple chicken feat games la

1. throw beanbags into hulla hoops
2.throw pingpong balls into egg cartons
3.obstacle course? is it too physically demanding?like a student pair up with an old folk and maybe like push him here and there thru some stations...<>
4.bowling- those plastic pins and balls that lil children play with... i can provide.
5. memory game?- put large pics of some drawings on the wall and see if they can match the 2 cards

alright guys, heres a continued post.

firstly,
Winona has kindly volunteered to take on the job to work on the class tee, anybody interested can aproach her to join your minds for the design.

Secondly,
No one has volunteered to do the service learning dance item. Well, the opening ceremony date is on 18th May. So if someone can be kind enough to choreograph a simple dance, it would be really great.

Lastly,
About the newspaper, those with cars, can bring some newspapers from home? It would definitely contribute considerably and we might stand a chance to win whatever-we-will-win-if-we-win if you did so. So, please do consider bringing.

hey 3e3, heres 2 requests i want to make.

1stly, can some of you guys please design a class tee.
the anxiety and hope for the class tee is humongous, and a few art students can do really a great help.
this is not to say lit students suck at designing or anything, but please do help in the design of the tee.
we want everybody to agree on a design. so... thanks a bunch.

2ndly,
is about the service learning project,
the current plan is to have a tea party+ buffet+ they sing themselves.
so i was thinking that this would be rather boring, so could some of you guys come up with a simple dance that old people can follow?
i know choreography can be a chore and its nearing the exam period, but the thing is may 18, so if anyone can make a simple dance, i'll be eternally grateful. as in the old folks will.
well, i'm making this plea only because we don't wanna lose out to ang mo kio, who will be competing with us to see whose proposal is better. so.. yeah. if not the $82 will be mine to keep
buahahaa.

hi! cheryl here.. this is my first contribution to the blog. so i hope u guys will enjoy!(:

ok today as u all noe, it rained like hell... so the plot of land was like super muddy. it was gross. first we split into grps of 3s and 4s, got briefed, and entered the muddy plot of land. the girls were tasked to plant the small plants, while the guys did the bigger potted plants. we digged and digged.... and encountered some interesting stuff...

earthworms, a fusebox, batteries, sweet potatoes, onions and more earthworms...
nicole was enjoying the company of her earthworm friend very much and take note: friend as in only one earthworm... later on she decides tat she wants more company and so, she chopped the earthworm into 2. hehexx besides chopping earthworms, we oso chopped onions... soil, roots.. ( seems like a home ec lesson )

some ppl had a "mud fight" flinging mudballs everywhere. after washing up, we went into the "home" is that what u called it? and had our break- chips and water. our next task was to splint into 2 grps. one grp tp design a banner for the opening day and the other grp to plan the activities.

i was in the grp that was doing the banner...( other memb include: adeline, soh leng, vanessa, clarina, trina, shufen, gabriel and ronathan) we painted the banner....... the pic above...
